Security in Transition: Novel Ethical and Methodological Considerations

The main aim of this research programme is to conceptualise and describe empirically the security gap and to track the way public and private security capabilities are changing and whether they help to close the gap or open it further.┬áBecause the world is changing so rapidly, the team has been interested, from the outset, in developing research methods that capture the ‘new’ nature of what we are analysing and observing. This paper summarises the main methodological and ethical considerations to date across the programme’s five components.
